Daycare Teacher

PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB POSITION

To assist the Daycare Director in planning, organizing and implementing a program to meet the physical, emotional, and creative needs of the child, and assure his care and protection.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assists in planning, within a framework of pre-school curriculum. Helps evaluate curriculum periodically and at the end of the year.
2. Directs and participates in group and individual activities of children.
3. Works with problems observed in individual children and helps them adapt and cope.
4. Helps children develop appropriate habits in such activities as eating, dressing, and. napping.
5. Participates in the snacks and meals for children.
6. Maintains cleanliness and order in the playroom and other areas.
7. Provides care and protection of children.
8. Attends and participates in meetings and workshops relating to group care.
9. Any additional related duties as requested by supervisor.

7. May attend and participate in meetings and workshops relating to group care.
8. Any additional related duties as requested by supervisor.

CONTINUING EDUCATION RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Two hours of mandatory child abuse workshops.
2. Health certificate required every other year.

ACCOUNTABILITY: Accountable to the Day Care Director and the Manager of Winning Wheels

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR JOB:

Must have high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED).
Must have an ability to relate to pre-school age children and an understanding of the concept of Day Care.

CONTINUING EDUCATION RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Two hours of mandatory child abuse workshops.
2. Health certificate required every other year.
3. Current Red Cross multi-media certificate required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be 19 years of age.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate.
Must have the skill and competence necessary to contribute to each child's physical, intellectual, personal, emotional, and social development.
Must demonstrate skill and competence necessary to assume direct responsibility for child care.
Must have two years of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester hours in ECE, or one year of child development experience in child care field and one year of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester hours in ECE, or completion of the CDA National Credential Award System.
